My Kenmore Dryer of about 5 years, model 110.C66532500 29" cabinet is not functional.
I noted that the timer is not moving with no heat coming out and the dryer does not shut off.
I have gone on to search the forum.
Could it be the problem of the timer ?

=================================

I stripped off the back of the dryer, went through the forum's posting carefully. I took out the Dryer Heating Element and found a break in the coil.

The part number of this Dryer Heater Element is :-
Whirlpool Electric Dryer Heating Element 279838.

I think this could be the problem ???

Yes that is probably your problem.

In many units when in an auto mode the timer motor gets power through the heating coil when the coil is off.
Therefore a bad (open) heating coil will stop the timer advancing.

Note: In a timed dry mode the timer motor usually gets power directly from the line so it should have advanced in timed dry.
