I have a freezer that appears to have a thermostat problem and I'm ready to buy parts to fix but am unsure as to the correct part to buy or if I need more than one part. Here's the problem: Using 0 as the lowest setting and 10 as the highest, here's the testing and symptoms: Set temp control knob to 4, compressor runs, freezer works fine. As it warms up, the knob needs to be turned up to 5-6 then back down to ~3.5 until I here the "click" of the thermostat that turns compressor on. If I set it to 10 then I must wait for it to warm-up until it hits the 6-7 threshold. I then have to turn back to 5 to find the "click" to engage the thermostat. Is this simply a Cold control Part Number: AP3426046 or do I need to buy the Run capacitor - 12 uf. Part Number: AP2071964 and/or do I need to buy the Relay Part Number: AP3414961Thanks! Joe

What is your problem here, too warm, erratic, etc?

It requires me (instead of thermostat) to turn the cold setting control knob down and up past the temperature point to activate the compressor.

I would replace the cold control AP3426046 You could try a non-residue cleaning spray on it, might fix it.

It there a mechanical coil that determines the thermostat actuation that makes you recommend spraying it down? And is electro cleaner a good spray solution? Originally Posted by: richappy I would replace the cold control AP3426046 You could try a non-residue cleaning spray on it, might fix it.

You spray non-residue cleaning spray in any crack in the cold control housing.
