One of my front burners won't light on its own. Hear clicking and see sparks from the back burner. Any ideas on how to fix it. Thank You. model: sf367peyq5

Thank You. model: sf367peyq5 Miss Cindy, Is there a bright white spark on the burner that won't ignite ? Wether it's that individual burner or when you use another burner ? Are you sure, the burner area on the cooktop is clean, and you have the burner cap on the burner properly ? Can you light the burner using a match ? I'm guessing at this point, You may have a, dirty, chipped/broken burner igniter or you may need a new Spark Module. Part number: AP2972875

It will light with a match, no spark comes from the front left burner but sparks in the back burner. Upon closer inspection after your post, the part where the spark comes from does seem to be a little chipped compared to the others, could this be my problem? Thank you for all your help.

Miss Cindy, Yes, a chipped, damaged or dirty igniter could create an erratic spark and not ignite the gas. The spark from the igniter, should hit the same spot on the burner most of the time,if the spark is hitting several areas on the burner it won't ignite, properly. If a new igniter is a steady consistant spark and the burner is still not igniting properly, then you'll need the spark module. Per the previous post. :) :) :)
