Just today the freezer side stop blowing cold air. The fan is working, but only blows warm air. The refrigerator side is still working, but not as cold before. I can hear the fan working and cutting off, but every time warmer and warmer. I'm pretty handy with electrical and mechanical equipment, but I would like to narrow down the problem before I take the entire fridge apart. Can someone help me please???

Do you hear a clicking noise coming from the back of the box?

I would check the compressor, if slightly warm or cold, I would remove the motherboard in the back and look for bat solder joints at the power relay. If ok, I would replace the motherboard AP4436216, most probable failed item.

At first it was more of an rattle sound that came from the fan. Then clicking sound became louder until it stopped. The fridge continued to work until just two days ago.

Your motherboard in the back controls both evaporator and condenser fans motors. If either one failed, the motherboard and the fan motor must be replaced. If a failed condensing fan motor, you can put a portable fan on it till parts come in.

I took the mother board out and noticed one of the resistors burned from the one of the connector pins. I found the resistor on this website:SONG CHUAN | 832A-1C-S-12VDC-VDE | 832 Seies SPDT Through Hole Power Relay - Future Electronics.

If I am able to change out the resistor my freezer and fridge should work again? Well, a repair man wants to charge me $250 to resouder the resistor back. Any comments??

Replace the motherboard and any motor that is bad, replacing the resistor will not fix the board.

Hello, I have the same problem.

http://forum.appliancepartspros...xt-steps.html#post307784

I am a litte concerned about replacing the motherboard and it happening all over again. What ended up being the root cause of your problem and what did you decide to do?
