I am attempting to replace the door lock assembly on my Kenmore front loader washer. Do I have to totally remove the rubber boot(seal) or can I just pull back the side where the lock is to reach in to grab the door lock switch. I don't want to damage the seal.

Never mind.:D Just realized that I could remove the 2 screws that fasten the front door panel and pull the panel just far enough away to access the door lock assembly.

The door will not lock so it can go into the spin cyc. I found the wax motor was not working I got a new one and it stil does not work.
In metering the wires with out being connected to the wax motor I get 120 vac. With the new motor pluged in but not installed and metering I get 18.6 volts.
What do I do next
Thank you, Chuck
