Ron,
Sounds like the problem is a bad control board. "Jenn-Air Gas Range Electronic Touch Control 800" is not a valid model number. Look for the name plate on the door frame, ion the frame behind the bottom drawer or on the back of the control panel.

Mine has the same exact problem, for the same reason. Did anyone contact you, beside the person who said Jenn Aire? You clearly said it was a Maytag (like mine)...

Gene, you saved my bacon also. I went shopping today and was going to buy a new range tomorrow. My range got about 2' of water during Hurricane Ike. I had to replace the ignitor a couple of months ago and really didn't want to spend any more money on this range. I thought my error code said 5 A6 or 5 Ab. Thanks!! Now if you can tell me how to fix my Frigidaire side by side that also got flooded. I actually feel pretty lucky to have had this work for 3 1/2 years after the flood.
