You normally can hear it also you should be able to feel it vibrating and it should be warm. If it is running then either it is toast or you have a freon leak. If it is not running and the condenser fan and evaporator fans are not running you may be stuck in a defrost cycle. If it is not running but the fans are running it may be a compressor start relay problem, a thermostat problem or a compressor problem. It makes a humming sound for a few seconds, clicks and then turns off. This keeps repeating every few minutes. Any ideas if there is a way to fix this? thank you.

What I normally do on those refrigerators, when they are getting older, is to take off the overload and relay, and wire in a hard start kit. The part # is RCO-410.
