My 18 year old electric Jenn-Air oven (W130W) was smoking after a popping sound and then the power went off during preheating. Later discovered the lower baking element was melted at one spot. I found the parts for that but was wondering what else needs to be replaced since no power on the display. Is there a thermal cut-off switch or circuit breaker within this oven? or perhaps the control panel is bad (which now no longer available)?

When the element melted through, it may have (probably did) grounded on the oven liner, and tripped the breaker. At any rate, go to the breaker and shut it off completely, before attempting to replace the element. When you turn the breaker back on, you may need to flip it on, off, then on again. Tell us if that solves your display problem.
