The HV capactitor has a white wire and a orange and red on the other side where does the HV diode hook on? Thanks

Yes that is the way iot looks to me.
With the cathode attached to ground. |

Not sure what the question is.
If the diode is shorted then it would blow the main fuse. |

I have a whirlpool microwave it blows the main 20amp fuse in the microwave when I press start it hums then blows the fuse I replaced the HV capactitor and the HV diode.I was not sure if I hooked the diode up right becuse it still blows the fuse. I dont know were to go next ? the magnetron or the HV transformer. I need help Thanks

Please do not take the following the wrong way as I am only trying to help.
It does not sound like you have any experience with electronics.
If this is the case I recommend you just replace the unit.
Microwaves are definitely not the unit to learn on due to the high voltages involved.
Many of these units do not drain the high voltage so even with the unit unplugged there is dangerous voltage present.
I just do not want to see you get hurt. |

Ok thanks for that but I may not be as smart as everyone on this forum but I do a lot guitar amp repair . When I asked about the diode it was because when I first looked at the microwave and it was on the white side and I wanted to make sure I was looing at it right. I already replaced the the HV Capactitor and HV diode on it. I didnt know where to go next

It has nothing to do with smart, it is about having the knowledge and experience working with high voltage. [COLOR="Blue"]When I asked about the diode it was because when I first looked at the microwave and it was on the white side and I wanted to make sure I was looing at it right[/COLOR] This I cannot explain either the schematic is wrong or someone has messed with the unit and installed the diode wrong.
