Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/22/2010(UTC) Posts: 3		I have a kenmore gas dryer that lately takes a little longer to dry clothes and we get a strong gas smell from the dryer that gets so bad it actually lingers in the clothes so bad we can't wear them. i have a lot of good airflow, and i can see the ignitor start up and the flame is 90% blue with tinges of orange. What gives?

What gives? I also noticed that after a minute the ignitor also no longer glows orange but the flame does stay on. Is that normal?

Stop to use the dryer immediately until it's fixed or replaced. The correction is to replace the gas valve assembly. - The gas valve assembly Part number: AP3094298 Gene.
