Roper washer quit spinning. We have been spinning it on our own for a few weeks, but this is no longer working. It drains and agitates. It is not the switch.

You might have dragging brake shoes and a bad clutch, or something stuck in the tub. Pull the pump and motor and turn the tranny coupler clockwise. If hard to turn, this confirms it. You can shine a light in the tub to check for an obstruction to eliminate this as the problem.
