Our washer stalled after it filled with water -- I could go back and start the wash cycle over and it did agitate. I drained it by hand by lowering the hose into a bucket on the floor (not plugged) -- checked the lid switch, and the screw holders have crumbled -- so I will replace this. But -- I after switching it on by hand -- the water would not drain. Is there anything else I can check before ordering a new pump. -- thanks

Take the hoses off the pump and check for a clog.

Hoses are clear. Pump is clear. I can turn the workings of the pump with some effort -- is it supposed to spin freely?

Does the motor run in drain mode?? Does it agitate in drain mode?

Before I disassembled it: if I put the dial in drain mode -- no sounds -- no agitation -- nothing. After I hand drained the basket-- it would spin in spin mode (although clunky). Is there an additional way that I need to test this?
