Washer works on normal wash and normal spin speeds. Does not work on gentle or delicate speeds. Makes a banging sound when agitating on gentle or delicate. Does not spin clothes well on the lower settings. Any advice would be appreciated.

GE has had a lot of problems with motor failures in low speed. Just replace the motor.

Your diagnosis was spot on. New motor arrived today. Got it installed and the machine is working fine now.
Thanks very much.

FYI you mentioned that GE was having problems with the motors, the replacement was a different model that included the clutch. Minor rewire was required, no big deal to install.
