I would not do it. This thermal cut off is a safety device to prevent the magnetron overheating. You can end up with fire in your kitchen and/or radiation leakage.

OK... 2 months later I'm back and here is what I found... When I last posted, had figured out that my magnetron thermal cutoff was bad, but could not find the part. On the bad part, it says CS-7TA 180-15A X147 Don't know if the 180 if F or Centigrade, so to be safe went with this thrid party part - Thermal Cutoff part # 18QBP088H which is supposed to be a 190 degree Farenheit Installed it, and started microwave, and after about 2 minutes, it shuts entire microwave off and no lights on front panel...BUT..within about 3-4 minutes, I get lights back and can start it again. So... I am wondering if the 180 could be referencing Centigrade? If so, the only magnegtron thermal cutoff I can find goes to 149 degress Centigrade... Gene. Hi Gene..thanks for responding... Yes, fan seems to work fine... and by the way, on Defrost cyle, I ran the microwave for about 10 minuites without an issue today (which I think is about 35% power?). It's a convection microwave, but have not tried the convection oven part yet, as I primarily use the microwave feature.

If the cooling fan is fine, then the thermal cut off is probably wrong.

Gene. Sorry for the delay, but internet here is iffy sometimes... Thanks for the input... will go with higher temp cutoff and report back, but may take a few weeks.... many thanks again.
