Need repair manual/parts diagram for Amana Dryer, Mdl.#ALG643RBW.
Dryer makes a squeal when spinning. Any thoughts?

Tech dad

Several possibilities:

Idler pulley
Drum rollers
Drum glides
Belt
Something stuck between the drum and the drum seal.

Once you determine your parts needs you can search on the APP home screen on the find parts heading.

Here's your manual,

Joe,

Noise is a grinding noise, not a squeal as I was informed. Would it be best to remove the belt to isolate it?

Techdad,

We're still working with the same components, only now,
they're probably damaged beyond repair,

Sounds like you'll be replacing parts, instead of a clean and lube.

You may even wind up checking or replacing the blower wheel.

You're going to want to remove the lower front panel and check to see if you can see any metal or plastic debris on the base of the unit in those areas I mentioned, then run the machine and isolate the noise.

The belt, usually does not make a grinding noise, squeals or thumps, usually, but once you tear into the machine, if that belt shows wear or tear, has cracks on either side, you need to replace it.

As for the blower wheel, you'll have to remove the front panel and the front tumbler support, the blower itself could be loose on the motor shaft, or have a small article(sock, shoelace, hanky, etc.) stuck in it.

If it were me, I would basically, perform some clean up and lubrication on the running gear(idler, rollers, slides etc. besides replacing the needed part(s).

Once you get it pinned down, let us know what you find, and we can get you through it.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
