Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 7/3/2008(UTC) Posts: 3		My husband went ahead and tore down the noisy washer. We are at the point of a bad bearing in the bottom of the tub. How do you remove this bearing, as the tub is plastic and could poss. damage easily.

Go to web site www.appliancejunk.com and download the 16022937 Maytag Amana service manual. You will need the special spanner wrench and maybe a gear puller. I use pieces of metal or washers to spread the tub springs, no need for the special spring spreader. I have turned down this job before, too hard and risky.
