Lower element broke (in 2 pieces). All other items on the range worked (stove top, broil and time display). I replaced the element through an authorized Maytag parts store.

Upon replacing the element, only the time display works. The stove top, broil and lower element do not come on. The stove top lights to indicate they have been turned on do not work. I can still specify a temperature for the oven, but it never heats up. Set the auto-clean to three hours and cancelled after 15 minutes. The oven "never" warmed up.

There are no "F" errors on the display.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Please assist. Thank you.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for MAYTAG CRE9600BCE Range - S/c F/s Ele | AppliancePartsPros.com

It sounds like a power problem.
The elements all require the full 240 volts while the controller and klights only require 120 so it sounds like you have lost half the line.

Try turning the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without tripping the breaker.

If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

I would pull the oven out, and look and see where the cord goes into the oven, that there is not a burn't wire back there. If not, the clock control will be your problem. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts

Thank you both for the suggestions. I have talked to my neighbor who is an electrician and he is going to come over and take a look. Will post how it turns out.

Well, my neighbor forgot about coming over so we ended up contacting another company to provide an estimate. When the technician arrived, he turned the circuit breaker to off, waited about 5 minutes and then turned it back on and everything worked fine until the oven was turned on. He checked the voltage on the outlet and found that it would only read 120v. Again, the circuit breaker was turned off and this time we waited 10 minutes. At which time, everything powered up fine with no problems and it is still working at this time. So it appears that the circuit breaker may be faulty. I will replace it this weekend and hopefully all will be well again.

Thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
