You had the same problem, before you replaced the gasket ?
Did you check the door closure cam in the door hinge(plastic round insert in the hinge pin opening ?
(may be worn out or moved and not working to assist closing the door).
Did you check and make sure the refrigerator was level in both directions(front to back and side to side, (1/8 to 5/16 inch high in front is acceptable).
Something you may want to try :
Lubricate the hinge side of the new gasket with vaseline, close and tape the door shut overnight, the warmth of the front flange will assist in softening the gasket and help "seat" it tighter.
If that does not solve the problem, then you will need to make up or purchase hinge shims, and install on the hinges to move the door out a little.
I'm not sure what the notice in your door seal states, never saw anything like that ?
But , the magnet is the 1/2 inch wide flat part of the gasket that should meet the cabinet front flange and seal.
If it says something else please let us know.
