I have this Maytag frige as noted above. Started to notice water on the floor on the freezer side. !st though someone was sloppy with the ice in the door. It happened again so I started to look inside and saw ice was forming on the bottom. I cleaned it out and in a couple of days it was back again and more ice formed. There is not a drain that I coulc see? I did turn off the icemaker thinking that was the problem. It seemed to still have water on the floor. Where do I start? Thanks!

Greg,

Based on what you've described,

You probably have a clogged defrost drain pan (behind the freezer back wall).

Sometimes and if you look at a certain angle, you can see the ice block through the slotted vent holes in the bottom of the back wall(evaporator cover).

If that's the case, you'll need to use a hair dryer to melt all the ice, and check the drain hole and drain tube for a clog.

You may also have a leak at the icemaker fill tube or spout, but I'd expect to see more water and more often, and you turned it off and still had water in the bottom of the freezer.

I would say you need to start at the defrost drain pan.
:) ;)

Thank you Joe! I got to the email after work and what you suspected was right! It was frozen behind the panel. I did a hairdryer for about 20 minutes and came back & ice & water was gone. I did take a pipe filter through the hole and was clear. Thanks very much.:):):):)
