My washer will not agitate nor spin. This all came about after a power outage. I can not find a LED light to obtain a code. The motor and pulley turn freely. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

When you raise and lower the loading lid, do you hear a destinqued click noise, also indicating the switch is operating. It may be just a coincidence, that the switch failed the same time as the power outage, or the switch may have shorted due to the spike. But this is where you want to start.

I do not hear any sound when I open and close the lid. The switch is a magnetic one with the wires molded into the bottom of it. Can the switch be bypassed to see if this is indeed the problem?

You need to be careful, but the switch can be tested with a meter or bypassed at the harness, where the wires enter the control console. While you are in the console area, and have the unit unplugged you should also check the inline fuses on the harness, that also could have opened with a high enough voltage spike.
