washer will not drain. How do i tell if the pump is no good or it is the washer timer? i have checked the hoses and taken the pump off and it is not cloogged.

Does the motor run in the drain / spin cycle ?

If yes, suspect a mechanical failure in the pump itself,or a clog in the drain spout at the tub or a clog in the tub to pump hose.

If the motor does not run in the drain/spin cycle, suspect the timer,

I presume the washer does fill and wash, indicating a properly running motor and timer.
