Amana model # ARS9265BB.
Worked great since 2005, then stopped cooling this past weekend for 2 days and then started back cooling. Could hear circulation fan running in freezer side, lights worked, but no cooling.

It just stopped cooling. Could hear the fan running on the freezer side when I opened the freezer door. Started back cooling about 36 to 48 hours later. Any ideas?

Your evaporator fan and compressor are wired in parallell through splices. I would check all connectors in the control panel for a burnt, loose splice or wire. You can remove all connectors and spay them with a non-residue contact cleaner, then plug them in.
The other area would be the compressor terminals, look for a burnt/loose wire.

Stopped cooling again last night. Will check and clean connections and look for loose or burnt wires. Would a faulty capacitor cause this problem.

If the compressor is cold when it fails, that would rule out a faulty capacitor.

The overload relay was faulty. When I removed it, I could hear it rattling.
Installed a new one a couple of hours ago, and it seems to be functioning normally.
