The Blank display may mean we need a new timer/clock? That is what Jenn Air said but we want to do it a step at a time to see if it works. I can grill or use the stove top in the mean time...or their is eating out :-)

Yes, you can use the stove top. It's not connected to the electronic oven parts. Keep us posted.

Our stove top is on the other side of the room, not connected at all. Still waiting for the part to get here. Thanks

Gene, We connected the new control panel and now the clock is blinking. It was not showing at all before and it is no longer beeping but the buttons still do not work when pushed. So the oven does not turn on because the buttons don't push. Clock works though>>> any ideas on this dilema??

Make sure the control panel ribbon cable is properly connected to the clock.

If there is nothing wrong, then the problem can be a bad connector on the clock what means the clock has to be replaced as well.

The clock is blinking so it seems to work but the control buttons do not work. Would the clock have something to do with that???

The buttons (pads) on the control panel MUST be connected to the clock through the ribbon cable plugged into the clock connector in order to let a consumer to operate the clock.

If the ribbon cable is plugged properly, then the connector on the clock is bad and the clock has to be replaced.

I don't understand why the clock would affect the bake, broil cancel buttons and turning the oven on or off?? So you think if we order a new clock it will make the panel work? Even though the clock is binking. He checked the ribbon connection and says it is connected right. ???

We have called a repairman to come Saturday sadly.

The clock in you oven is not only timing device. It is a microcomputer which operates with ALL oven functions while the control panel is just an input device. The clock sends a command to the relay board, saying to which device it should provide the power.

Gene, I appreciate your patience and informative replies. As a not-expert, I am relying on this thread and your expertise. I have a similar problem, posted in another thread with no replies.

If there are no wiring diagrams/troubleshooting charts, is the only alternative to 'throw' circuit boards at it? I intent to pull the boards for a visual inspection of components, but doubt I'll see anything. No circuit info makes any resistance readings rather useless.

A power interruption has caused all but out oven lights to be inop. I am thinking either a power board component or one on the ERC, from the spike that got through.
