Indoor ice maker not producing ice, mechancially it is fully operable, indoor water working fine. no water in tray. ice dispense motor still works. ice bin installed properly. Ice maker switch is ON. appears it is not dispensing water into trays as they are empty. Logically it seems as though it thinks the ice bin is full so there is no call to make additional ice

Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and watch the diagnostics "status" LED on the right side.

Post your findings.

Perform all troubleshooting as recommended in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...icemaker-led-lights.html and post the results.

I am having the exact same issue as belljo on my Kenmore Elite side-by-side refridgerator, Model # 106.56682501.

My ice-maker is mounted to the top of the freezer. My ice-despenser is in the freezer door.

  • The ice-maker is not producing ice.
  • The water tube that comes out of the freezer roof is not frozen.
  • The in-door water-despenser works.
  • The in-door ice-despenser motor works.
  • The ice-bin is installed properly.
  • The ice-maker switch is ON.
  • There is no water or ice in the tray. It appears that it is not dispensing water into trays as they are empty. It may think that the ice bin is full so there is no call to fill it with water to make additional ice.
  • The LED lights on the ice-maker double blink red when the flapper door on the left is open and blocking the path and is solid red when the door is closed and the path is not blocked.
Belljo, Were you able to solve your problem? If so, what was the solution?

Gene or anyone else, any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Barry,

Just perform the ice maker troubleshooting as described here: http://forum.appliancepartspros...icemaker-led-lights.html and post the results.
