We have replaced the actuator and it had obviously had a meltdown so we were sure that would solve the problem. However it still didn't work. Only solution seemed to be to replace the control/timer module but that hasn't changed anything. The dishwasher runs fine and we can manually trigger the soap dispenser (pushing the lever that the actuator should push). Any suggestions? A wiring diagram would be helpful but haven't been able to track one down. Have now spent $145 and still no joy

We have been through that information and as I said have replaced the actuator itself and now the timer. Have also checked the voltages. So for some reason, the circuit is not opening to provide power to the actuator when the wash cycle starts. Is it possible that there could be a problem with the wiring to the switches to select the cycle? We are at a loss as to what to try next.

Are you sure you checked the voltage at the right time interval? The soap dispenser should open while the dishwasher is in the main wash (third or fourth water fill).

Gene. Yes we checked during the main wash cycle. Connected a light bulb which didn't light up. Have checked the connectors to the controller using the schemicatic diagram in the manual. With a new actuator and a new control/timer installed we can't understand why it's not getting power. Actuator tests out at just over 2,000 ohms. Is it possible there is an inline fuse somewhere that is burnt out. Or that the circuit to supply power is not completed somehow?

Using a light bulb to measure the voltage is not a good idea. You have to measure voltage, using a voltmeter. Disconnect the wires from the wax motor and connect the voltmeter probes to these wires. We do not know exact time when the power should come to the actuator, so you have to watch it for a few minutes.

Gene. As it turns out, the three selector switch panel has a small printed circuit board on which a couple of copper traces were vaporized. We suspect the actuator failure led to a momentary short circuit leading to excessive current flows. Since the copper traces on the printed circuit board of the selector switches are the weakest link in the chain, they blew leaving that part of the system open circuit. So no power was getting to the new actuator. While waiting for the replacement part for the wash cycle selector switches to arrive, we've hot wired the traces and everything now works as it should! Thanks for your assistance. Problem is solved. The only down side is we spent $100 for the timer control unnecessarily. I guess we'll have a backup for the future! At least the Bosch parts are easy to access and replace.

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to find and fix the problem. Good job!
Gene.
Bosch dishwasher are my favorite.
