All of a sudden, during the spin cycle, the washer will continue to agitate instead of spinning. The water still drains out, but the clothes are still soaked because of the spin cycle not working correct. Any ideas how to fix it or what could be wrong?

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 4/3/2010(UTC) Posts: 6		I removed the pump and motor, and turned the shaft clockwise. The barrel spins relatively fast, and the agitator moves slowly back and forth. That is just turning it by hand. While in the spin cycle, the barrel would not spin at all.

You will need to pull the tranny to replace it.Order AP3094537 Have someone hold the agitator while turning the tranny coupler clockwise. Agitator should be easy to hold still, if not, you have a bad tranny although rather rare.

You can confirm by pulling the tranny,then try to turn the clutch band inside the clutch housing, if easy to turn, put a new clutch in. After the new clutch is in, see if that solves all your other prioblems.
