Our washer started making a horrendously loud knocking noise during the spin cycle then the washer shutdown. I took the back cover off and the noise seems to originate from behind the big pulley attached to the drum. Any ideas?...bearing bad?...something broken? I looked at the parts schematics and all it shows is a replacement rear outer drum cover...no seperate bearings or parts....help please! Thanks

BTW, it is level and on solid flooring. Is there some sort of clutch mechanism between the tub and outer cover? Seems like a clanking noise from there when I try to turn the big pullry by hand...
