My maytag operates fine till it reaches the very last rinse and spin. At that time it doesn't spin out until I manually advance the selector dial to spin. This only occurs in the LAST spin. I've experimented by selecting a large load, regular load and hand wash load. In every situation I had to manually advance the selector dial to 'spin'.
I'm unemployed and really need to cut the chase to find out what part it is I need to replace and do it myself. I"ve learned in the past if I don't take care of it when it happens it turns into a bigger more costly situation eventually.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Try it in all the other cycles. It could be either a faulty "Extra Rinse" selector switch, or a bad timer.
