I tried to defrost the frreezer section and as I was removing the ice from the freezer, something got punctured and the freon starting dripping out. Which cause the frigerator to go out. Is it anyway it can be fixed or does it have to be replaced. It was made in Nov. 1985.

A repair depends on how big the puncture is. The material is aluminum. It may require the replacement of the evaporator. This will be very costly.

If you failed to unplug the fridg when the punture happened, the compressor has sucked in water and is now unrepairable.
