I have a GE QuietPower2.
It's been setting for a while because we were on un-filtered well water. We recently installed a water treatment system, so I cleaned out the mess (and what a mess) in the dishwasher in anticipation of using it again.
The problem is, it doesn't fill with water. I thought the Water Solenoid Inlet Valve might be bad, so I replaced it..
Still doesn't get any water.
The water is coming in from the water line. There doesn't appear to be any obstructions in the water tube AFTER the Inlet Valve and into the dishwasher itself..
Anything else I can check??
Thanx
Michale

Sounds like your water treatment system may not supply enough pressure.

Thanx for the reply...
I am not sure what the pressure is, but when I tested the hose, it shot across the kitchen.. :D
It's like the water is not making it past that solenoid..

Measure the voltage across the valve when it should be filling. If you do not get 120 volts then you probably have a timer problem. |

The voltage was completely dead on the solenoid, so I took apart the door. On the latch assembly, the "actuator handle"... Part Details - GE ACTUATOR, HANDLE, part number: AP4355961... had a broken peg on the left side. So I am thinking it might not be disengaging the switches properly. But that doesn't make much sense, because it would do everything else properly (rinse, spin, drain, etc etc). Anyways, I ordered a new part and hopefully that will fix the problem. Thanx for the replies. Michale

SUCCESS!!!!!!!! :D:D
There is a float mechanism on the bottom of the dishwasher cleaning area. It was an area I neglected to clean.
The float was stuck in the CLOSED position and therefore didn't let water flow..
After spending almost $70 for replacement parts, it turns out it was just gunky and needed cleaned..
Oh well, the best lessons in life, learning-wise, are the expensive ones.
Thanx for all the replies..
