Ice maker appeared to be overfilling the tray, causing excess water to drip into the bin, this freezes and prevents the dispenser from operating. I replaced the inlet valve(part number 2188542), but it did not solve the problem.
Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply.
Could you expand on your reasoning. I have no problem replacing the unit, I just don't want to continue changing parts till I get it right.
In my research it was suggested that if for some reason a single cube was not ejected, the tray would overflow, exactly my symptoms. However twice I have started from scratch with empty trays, and the first fill was an overfill.
Unless there is some kind of sensor in the actual Icemaking tray unit, I have to think the problem is in the inlet valve.

Here is the Question.
Is there another mechanism that would impact the amount of water delivered to the trays, other than the inlet valve?
Thanks in advance.

I thought you already replaced the water inlet valve.

The ice maker fills on time. As the ice maker unit cycles around it put power to the water valve for about 7 seconds. If the ice maker fills for to long the valve could be sticking open for a bit or the ice maker could be putting power to the valve for longer then it should.

Most of the time it is the timing in the ice maker that is the problem.

From your first post I thought you had already replaced the water valve and this only leave the ice maker left to be at fault.

Thank you for that ultra fast response on a long weekend.
I did indeed change the inlet valve. My first thought is that it was faulty, however if the valve opening is controled by the electronic unit at the front of the Ice trays I understand your reasoning. Needless to say, I'm on a steep learning curve here.
