When washer starts spin cycle, it makes a banging noise. Open the lid and you can move the tub back and forth too easy. Is this worth fixing? Washer is probably closer to 10 years old.

Its a direct drive washer resting on a pedistal with 4 springs keeping it centered.. it will move easily around in cabinet.. check that the load is even and also that the springs ar attached and level the machine

The washer made this noise even when empty. How can I check to see if the springs are still attached? Also, when it stops from the spin cycle, it sometimes clunks and the basket moves quite a bit.
