I replaced the original Whirlpool ice maker with one of your kits (AP2984633) back in July of 09'. It stopped working in November of 09'. Another replacement kit was shipped to me and I installed it. Still has not work. I've replaced the water valve as well and we still do not having water being drawn from/thru the valve into the unit to make the ice. The unit does turn and would dump ice, if there were any to dump. Where do I go from here? Could the kit be defective or a portion of it? Is there a way to troubleshoot the unit for this issue or should I just re-order another replacement kit?

Have you checked the water feeding tube which comes into the ice maker?

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Yes, I checked the inlet tube and there are no kinks in the line. I also removed the tube and ran a small wire through the back side of the fridge into the ice maker to be sure there were no obstructions. I also blew through the top of the tube back down to the valve and found no blockage. We have water being distributed to the water dispenser in the door but not to the ice maker itself. As I mentioned before, the inlet valve has been replaced as well. The model number is KSRS25QAWH10.

Sorry for the delay.

Swap the wires on the water valve solenoids. Press the water release for the water dispenser for a few seconds and check if there is water in the ice maker. Post the results.

I tried swapping the connections as you suggested but the connections
are of different sizes so only one could be made. Here's what was possible. I connected the ice maker connection to the water dispenser side of the inlet valve. I pushed the water release (held it down) but no water was distributed into the ice maker or through water dispenser on front of unit. I left this connected that way fo awhile. When the ice maker went through its cycle and would normally want water dispensed to the ice maker, the water was dispensed through the water dispenser (onto the floor!!) and not into the ice maker.
I tried this process with both the new and the old inlet valves and I got the same results.

You may want to carefully use two wires to connect the wire plug to the second solenoid. This is the easiest way to test what is wrong.
