Today my wife dropped a new jar of peanut butter on the top of the dryer near the controls. Since then the dryer will not turn off, except when the door is open. I can turn the controls and set it and it seems to all still work and heat up, if I hit the cancel button, the controls go off but it is still spinning till I open the door or unplug it.. I taken the control board out and everything visually looks fine and is all plugged in. The board was already replaced under warranty when the dryer was new..Im not opposed to replacing it again - was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions, also any suggestions as far as where to get the new part.. I did find the board assembly for $201 online. (more than I paid for the dryer- was on clearance at Lowes)

This unit has several revisions the following parts and tech sheet are for a AEQ6000CES1

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE AEQ6000CES1 Frigidaire/dryer | AppliancePartsPros.com
Looks like the control board is $155.00 approx.

Here is the tech sheet

From your description it sounds like the motor runs all the time even after it is unplugged and reconnected unless the door is open. This is important because if the unit can be unplugged then reconnected and the motor does not run then it's relay on the board is being activated for some reason so troubleshooting will be harder.

It does sound like the contacts of the motor relay are welded together.
This can be checked by unplugging the unit, Unplugging the J4 connector at the board and checking from J4-1 to J4-2. It should be infinite ohms (open).
If 0 ohms then the relay contacts are welded shut.
