Dryer shuts off before timer is finished. I have already replaced the timer unit. What should I check for next? Help?

The part number comes up as a washer.
If you have to wait several minutes before you can restart the unit, the most likely cause is that the motor is overheating and tripping it's internal thermal protect. You then have to wait till the moptor cools down before you can re-start it.
If the above is true Try turning the drum in the correct direction. It should turn fairly easily. You may want to try this on a couple other dryers to get a feel for it. Could be the drum is dragging which puts too high a load on the motor.
Open the unit up and check/clean the motor. Could be it is clogged solid with lint.
Check that the motor armature spins freely
If the above are OK, odds are you need a new motor. |
