LER5848EQ5 SECTION PartsI'm having a problem getting my dryer to start. It was working fine, but then I dryed my down comforter. I thought that maybe it was clogged with lint so I: Removed the back and vacuumed out all the lint. Removed the excess lint from the duct. Removed the lint from the lint trap (this was the only place I found any down) Removed the top of the dryer and was able to pull the entire lint chute out - there was quite a bit of lint. Removed the front cover & removed all the lint found under the drum. Vacuumed the excess lint away from the motor. I still can't get it to start. I turn the timer & push the on button and hear the small ticking sound its always made, but the switch does nothing. From what I've been reading on the forum it could be a thermal fuse or a thermostat. It could also be that there's still lint around the motor (despite my vacuuming it) I wonder if anyone has any ideas to help me. I also wonder when I replace these do I remove the drum & go through the front of the dryer, or can it be done from the back? Here's a link I found to my parts if it helps at all. And here's the model info Model - LER5848EQ5 Serial - MH4619525 Type - 180-00 I think the dryer is about 11 years old. I've never had it serviced but I have noticed it doesn't dry as well as it used to - it seems to only work on high heat. Thanks. Melissa

Oh I forgot to say, I've also tried resetting my breaker.

I've called in the pros. I have a bad motor.
My new question is, is this a fairly easy do-it-yourself thing? I do all the plumbing & electrical work around the house, but haven't ever dealt with anything that has a motor.
I'm concerned about removing the drum with the belt & putting it back together.
