Coils are clean and defrost timer has been replaced. If freezer is working great, why would you replace the defrost timer? Cannot see why removing the grill would make a difference unless the condenser fan is not working. Also if the freezer is working great it should freeze the water. Perhaps measure the freezer temperature, it shoul be around 0 degrees F.
