Fridge and freezer work great only with the upper grille assembly removed. Coils are clean and defrost timer has been replaced. Where do I go from here?

Sorry but do not understand Fridge and freezer work great only with the upper grille assembly removed. Coils are clean and defrost timer has been replaced. If freezer is working great, why would you replace the defrost timer? Cannot see why removing the grill would make a difference unless the condenser fan is not working. Also if the freezer is working great it should freeze the water. Perhaps measure the freezer temperature, it shoul be around 0 degrees F. |

Check the freezer temperature.
Check for power at the condenser fan |
