It works perfect except the timer doesn't time down. It runs fine except the clock doesn't shut off or move from the setting that I set it at. In other words if I put the timer at one hour and run the dryer it runs forever and I have to open the door to stop it from running. The drying works fine and the clothes get dried perfectly. What is the problem and what needs to be fixed or replaced? Thanks.

A Mode Number may help others help you.
Also does it do this in both timed dry and Auto cycles?
Easiest way to check is measure the voltage across the timer motor if it is getting 120 volts and not advancing the times is toast. |

Where do I find the mode number? Next thing am I right in assuming that there are two wires going to the back of the timer and I can read the voltage there by putting the meter across those two wires?
I haven't tried it in the Auto cycles which I will do everything that you have suggested and post back tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

This may help find the model number Model Number LocatorYes you will see the two wires going to the timer motor. Be very careful there is 240 volts in the control console and it can be lethal. |

Thanks, it is DE870PXG1. Can anyone tell me where I can get a wiring diagram for this dryer since the one that is attached to it has deteriorated beyond being able to read. Thanks.
