The washer Drains during any given cycle but will not spin. I have already taken the shell off. The coupler seems to be in great shape (assuming that the coupler is the plastic prong thing that connects to the rubber thing with holes in it and to the transmissions plastic prong thing), the pump seems to be in good standing, and the switch is fine as well (has full contact when engaged). I've taken off the top part of the agitator to see if anything is moving during agitate and I can see the clutches pushing the agitator as it works. But it does not move during the spin cycle, it just drains. please help!
Thanks

With the washer "off" try to move the inner tub. If it moves then I would recommend to check the drive block and the tabs on top of the basket drive. You can find the complete instructions in one of my previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...ir/373-not-spinning.htmlCheck for any clothes stuck between the inner and the outer tubs. Start the spin cycle and watch the clutch drum. If it does not spin, the problem is the gear case. If it spins, the problem could be the clutch or the basket drive. To find out exactly it has to be taken apart. - The part number for the drive block is AP2905773 - The part number for the clutch is AP3094537 - The part number for the gear case is AP3096209 - The part number for the basket drive is AP3094539 Gene.

thank you Gene I have the washer apart and each and every part of the shaft is not spinning at all in the spin cycle. I took the drive block off and everything seems fine there. So I am guessing at this point i need a new transmission? Please let me know if this is the case. also do you have any directions on how to replace the gear case? your documentation that you forwarded me from your previous posts were very helpful. Thank you for your time in helping me through this!

Most likely the problem is a bad gear case. You can find the complete instructions in the service manual (page 26). Good luck. Gene.
