The control panel is not currently working therefore causing the dishwasher not to turn on
In the past few months it has been working on and off
Shall I try the thermal fuse first ?
I had a local repair come and they said it was the control panel.
Please help !!

The first thing I would check is 120V at the power outlet and the plug connection. Remove the bottom panel and check for burned wires at the junction box. Check for reversed polarity at the power cord connection to the dishwasher. Reversed polarity means the hot power cord wire connected to the neutral dishwasher wire and the neutral power cord wire connected to the hot dishwasher wire. Reversed polarity could cause a damage to the control board. If there is nothing wrong then check the thermal fuse, located on the control board box. If this is not the issue then replace the control board. - The part number for the thermal fuse is AP3115186 - The part number for the control board is AP3175633 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model DU960PWKQ1Gene.

Does it have a "lock-out" feature? I had a Whirlpool a couple days ago that had that and it was "locked out". Note on control panel tells you what to do to lock out and to release control panel. Mine was hold the button for five seconds and it reset and was OK.
