My Kenmore Coldspot is not producing ice. The appliance is about 5 months old. The water is flowing fine. I also just replaced the filter (even though the light was still green). When I open the freezer door there is a red light blinking. The icemaker is on. I could not find any guidance in the user guide related to this red light but I am thinking it may be a faulty sensor?

Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and monitor the diagnostics status LED on the right side.
Post your findings.

When I press the emitter flapper door the light on the right stays a constant red. If the flapper door is not pressed the red light blinks.

This test proves there is nothing wrong with the ice maker electronic control.
Due to your fridge is less then a year old and is still under the full manufacturer warranty, I do not think it is a good idea to perform more serious troubleshooting. Also, any attempt of repair from your side will void the warranty.
The best thing is to call the Sears for service.

I have a Kenmore Coldspot that is not producing ice. I have never tried to work on anything like this before. How can I check to make sure the water is flowing good, and what else should I check? I really do not have a couple of hundred dollars to call a serice person out. It is about two and half years old. The ice maker stop working about 6 months ago.

I am having the same problem but my diagnostic is different when I check the blinking red light. When I push the flap back, it changes from a constant red blinking to two quick blinks - pause - two quick blinks - pause, etc. I'm a renter with a really unreasonable landlord. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem. The icemaker works fine, as I've emptied the ice box and had it fill up again. But the dispenser itself won't release any ice. It's not stuck and the water dispenser works fine. I also don't hear the rumbling of a motor like I did before when the ice pedal is pressed.
The model is 106.55606400

Does the ice gate open when you depress the ice dispenser lever?
