Hints on removing inlet protector to allow inspection of chopper assembly from inside of dishwasher? With hold down screw removed, I cannot seem to loosen plastic protector without fear of breaking it. Broken plastic fork tine found in this area so suspect noise may be a piece that is trapped in the chopper assy area. No noise when filling or when draining.

There is a tab on the other side of the inlet protector. Click on the picture to enlarge.
