my dryer died! I think it's the push to start button. At first it was hard to start but if I held the button in for a few it ran. Then 2 days ago it stopped mid-cycle. If I push the start button it makes a humming noise. Could it be a fuse too? HELP! My husband said I could get a new one but I'd rather not right now...

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LER4634JQ0 | AppliancePartsPros.comIf the motor hums could be it is running but the belt is broken. If this is the case you should have heat. If the motor is shot it will often hum/buzz as it tries to start. Try turning the drum in the correct direction. It should turn fairly easily. This checks if the drum mounts etc. are OK If OK This may take two people. Open the door, manually hold the door switch closed. push/rotate the start button, rotate the drum in the correct direction manually. Watch your knuckles in case it starts rotating. If it starts then odds are high that your motor is toast. |
