Silly question but asking to save time....I just ordered a new bottom heating element to replace mine. I unscrewed the back plates and carefully pulled it out from the back wall. Only the right side of the element is attached to wiring. I was careful not to pull to hard, is it possible that only one side is wired? I noticed from the picture on the new element that will be arriving that both sides have attachments for wiring. Am I going to have to pull the oven out from the wall to access this possible 2nd wire from the back? Im hoping that you tell me that it only has the one wiring to the element. thanks.

It's got to have two. The other one is back in there. If the unit is difficult to remove, kill the power at the breaker, and make a little hook on the end of a coat hanger. You may be able to "fish" it out. If you can't get it that way you'll have to gain access from the rear of the unit.

I had to pull the oven away from the wall which actually wasn't as hard as I thought that it would be. There was a back panel plate that gave me access and it was a quick and easy fix. The element broke near the sleeve and I could see where it had burned at the insulation around it. That's why the others wire didn't appear when I pulled the element out. Thank you for your response and I am thankful for this website that helps the "average joe" save money by helping us to DIY.
