My built-in ice maker has been producing less ice over the past week. I do not hear it dropping new ice into the drawer as frequently as before. The ice appears to the melting slightly as there is water in the bottom of the drawer and the ice available is wet. There is also a dedicated water filter installed on the exterior of the cabinet. Although a 1999 Kenmore model, it has been working beautifully up to this point. My readings on refrigerator ice makers present a number of possible explanations for these problems. However, I have been unable to find anything regarding built-ins. I moved into my house in November '08 complete with ice maker but I am unfamiliar with their maintenance or repair. Any help would be appreciated.

I misspoke in describing my ice maker as a "built-in." It is a separate appliance installed under the counter. I haven't seen any posts related to this type of ice maker. If anyone is familiar with them, please help.
