Hello pros, I have a question about my Frigidaire side by side refrigerator. I have noticed recently that the evaporator fan motor in the freezer section pulses on and off when it is trying to start. It will do this for 5 minutes or so, then it will start operating normally. The air damper control to the refrigerator side also pulses in time with the evaporator fan. I have read that there is a known problem with the evaporator fans in this model, and that possibly the fan is bad and about to fail. I have also read that the contacts may be bad in the air damper control and it needs to be replaced. However, I don't want to replace them if only one is bad, and I was also wondering if it may not be a separate problem since they pulse at the same time...maybe a power supply problem or a switch that supplies power to both the air damper control and fan motor? Any help you guys can provide would be GREAT!!! Thanks!

In my opinion most likely the problem is a bad adaptive defrost control (#23 on the diagram) because it supplies power for both the fan motor and the damper control motor. - The adaptive defrost control Part number: AP3562972

I would check the air return behind the fridg. crisper drawer, might have an ice clog.

Thanks, guys! I checked behind the crisper drawer, and didn't find ice or anything else obstructing air flow. I think Gene may be right to try replacing the adaptive defrost, so I ordered one from this site. I'll let you know how that works.
Thanks again!
