All runs but won't heat
I found the rectifier diode coming off of the hv capacitor
open would that keep it from heating up or do I need to search some more
cap checks ok.

Hi,

Sounds like a bad diode.

If you have a ohm meter make sure the magnetron is not shorted out to ground before you replace the diode.

I tried anpother diode from another machine that was about the same physical size and it didn't help
I also tried another magnetron that wasn't the same number and it would start but then would shut down
