We moved to a new location outside the U.S. :D
We have the same electrical system as the U.S. The electrical panel was not setup correctly. The ground and neutral were reversed. :mad:
We had several major power surges while the panel was being straightened out. This knocked out our Washer and Stove.
The washer was running while the power surges were happening. I need help in getting our washer up and running. There are no repairmen that will work on this unit. They can't get parts.
We first replaced the motor for code E54.
Then we replaced the control board code E54 again.
Then we replaced the wiring harness code E54 again.
Test Results are as follows:

The type of problem you have described is very difficult for us to diagnose, between the wrong wiring and the power surges there are a number of parts which could have been affected. I personally don't see how the inverter would have survived all this, but that is just an educated guess, and even if it right it is probably not the only problem. About the best I can do is list the service manual for you (assuming you did not have it) and hope that it leads you to some success. http://appliancejunk.com/ge/washer/31-9135.pdfGood luck

The inverter acts as sorta a motor controller. Take a look at the service manual and it will tell you how to do some testing on it.
I think your troubleshooting tests could prove out even with a bad inverter, but it would really take a GE tech to say for sure.
Anyway, do some of the testing that is listed in the manual , and check to see that current is getting to the board. Generally, if the inverter is getting powered and the machine is not functioning the inverter will have to be replaced.
That is the correct part. The problem you have is that confirmation will only come with replacing parts like the inverter which is expensive and not guaranteed to solve the problem since you can have some hidden wiring damage from your electrical problems.

You are the best. My husband brought back the inverter from the United States and I couldn't wait to install it. I ran the tests and it passed and now I am doing laundry.
One more question? How much powder should I be using in this model. After all of this I do not want to screw anything up. All the laundry detergents are not written in English.

Fantastic, I am very glad you got it up and running.
If you look on page 9 of the manual I sent you it will show you how much detergent to use. Note it is very important that you use an HE or low suds detergent in this machine.
Question: Where exactly are you folks?
Nice going on getting it fixed.

We are in Costa Rica...off the beaten path.
5 miles from "town"..two and a half hours from where we could get American supplies. I am still having a time finding some spices. Would you know anything about them i.e. where to locate them. LOL
What will happen if we can't get low suds or HE detergent?

Front load washers need low suds/he detergents because the suds tend to get into the tub bearing assembly and deteriorate it. It seems this is not as much of a problem with your machine as with Frigidaires and others.
If you cannot get low suds detergent use the minimum possible amount. Most folks put in too much detergent anyway, just a little bit is all that is needed.
As far as the spices are concerned, I would have thought Costa Rica is full of them, but if not don't think we can help you there.
