My gas oven won't light on bake or broil. I can see the element glowing but it won't light. The six burners on the cooktop light fine. I'am thinking it might be the simmer controller, can someone shed a little light for me. Thanks

If the both (Bake & Broil) igniters are glowing but won't light the gas then most likely the problem is a bad igniters.

- The oven igniter Part number: AP2832933

Gene, thanks for your response. How do I check to verify that it is the igniters?

You may want to measure the current drawn by the igniter, but you have to have a special meter. If the reading is 3.2 amps or less then the igniter is bad.

Yes, you can. You have to wire it in series with the igniter.

Gene, does my PRG366US have 2 igniters and if so is it possible that both the bake and the broil igniters went bad at the smae time?

Gene, I didn't give you the full model number of my range the first time. The model number is PRG366US, does this model have 2- igniters?

There are two separate burners for Broil and Bake and each of them has own igniter. Both igniters are identical and have the same part number. If you want to make sure (and it's a good idea) what is wrong then you have to check the current drawn by the igniters first.

Gene, I did check the bottom igniter and it is drawing 3.2amps. I have a clamp type amp probe that wraps around the wire. Will that give me an true reading?
